LIKE A BOSS
Looking for the Ultimate work and play horse? Like A Boss, affectionately known as Bruce. Imported (Australia) QH x Gypsy Draught. A Straight-up bridle horse, trained in our interpretation of the Californio style, Bruce has spent extensive time in the hackamore, then the Two-Rein, and is now usually ridden in the Spade, but he can be rode in anything or nothing! Bruce has a long stride with great rhythm in all gaits, the way he covers the ground with definiteness of purpose is gorgeous to watch, and exhilarating to feel. He will climb mountains, cross water, drag calves, he is a handy cutting horse, sorts cattle quietly and efficiently, works his heart out, but then when you drop the reins on his neck, he will wait patiently for his next cue. His sure-footedness and attention to detail gives him a special aptitude for Ranch Trail, he reads strides easily when it comes to ground poles and any type of jumping obstacle. Regularly scoring +1/2’s & +1’s for maneuvers in Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail and Ranch Pleasure. He is such a fun horse to show, easy to prepare, once you step into the show pen he maintains his concentration and is easy to navigate through patterns. He is out of the standout Facebook sensation, registered Drum horse mare King’s Ransom Lizzie. And sired by the highly decorated Australian Quarter Horse Stallion Early Oak. (deceased) Bruce is an Australian Born Quarter Horse cross Gypsy Draught gelding standing at 14.2hh and weighing in at 1100lbs. Born August 1st 2019. He is Bay Roan with a unique blaze and 2 hind socks. He is microchipped and registered with the National Snaffle Bit Association. He is up to date on Vaccinations, Dental, current Coggins and has clean X-Rays. His thick, long forelock frames his photogenic face, when you look closely, he has some white eye lashes on his upper eye lid, while the rest are black, just one of the redeeming features he inherited from his Dam: King's Ransom. His feet are very healthy, easy to manage and are the ideal size/depth for his size. He has spent most of his life barefoot, he is trimmed on a regular schedule and wears sliders on his hind feet when showing. In 2024, he won 9 buckles, a truck load of prizes, sashes, and won a year end saddle. Titles include: -Multiple High Point Champion Buckles-showing in 7 Versatility classes each show, Gainesville, Texas. Texas Ranch Horse Championship High Point Open Cow Work Versatility Champion. Arrowheart Ranch Horse Versatility Year End Champion Saddle recipient. He proudly carries the desirable attributes we all seek in a horse, thick bone, correct conformation, friendly and charming demeanor, undeniable work ethic, incredible athleticism and carries himself with poise and purpose. It’s very obvious everywhere he goes, people of all ages are captivated by his commanding presence and charisma. When people get up close and personal, he has such a softness about him that reels you in hook, line and sinker. He really enjoys attention, he has a genuine gentle-ness about him without being “pushy”. His unflappable temperament radiates a quiet confidence and allows his rider to feel safe and competent handling on the ground or in the saddle. He has been ridden by kids and adults of varying levels of experience. We have owned Bruce from his very beginning, we were present at the joining of his parents, and were there when he was born. We literally know him better than anyone on the planet. His riding career began as a “Real deal” ranch horse, on the Central Slopes of country New South Wales, Australia, moving and sorting cattle and sheep in large mobs up to 1500 head, the long days with varying terrain helped to develop his solid, honest mindset. He is gentle around and with other horses, has been used as our main “pony horse” for starting colts. He tracks and rates cattle very naturally, he can also work different positions required depending on the job. He has attended many brandings’, he is comfortable on the head or heel side, he is very safe and reliable dragging calves. It is clear to see that Bruce has a broad repertoire of experience for a 6 year old, this leaves so many more years of fun and enjoyment to continue in his life. He has been living in North Texas since December 2023, when we moved here from Australia. We made the decision to fly Bruce to the United States with us so we could continue his training and show career. We have trained and shown him as a husband/wife team both in Australia and in Texas. It has been an incredible privilege to breed, raise, train and campaign this special individual, he has given us tremendous joy and opened the door for so many new friendships for us. Now it is time for him to go bring greatness to another family, this decision is a difficult one! Choosing Premier Horse Sales to be the platform to find his next adoring home means he will have the best possible chance to get in front of as many prospective owners as possible in the bid to find his next chapter in life.
