DOUBLE N HELL OF A VIEW
They say you will always remember your first and Big Boy has been exactly that for us! This 2019 gentle giant is the first draft cross we have ever owned. The first time I saw Big Boy I knew he was going to be special. This 16.2 hand draft/paint cross gelding has been one of the most fun and most memorable horses we have ever trained. His contrasting color and handsome stature catch your eye and his personality will capture your heart! He loves attention and enjoys having a job. Big Boy is extremely agile for his size and has that smooth, flat necked fancy lope that the quarter horse industry craves! He can be ridden western one handed in a bridle, English with two hands in a snaffle, or simply bareback in a halter and lead! He has a good “whoa” and a nice handy spin and side passes with ease. He is extremely efficient at the lope and not hard to keep going, yet he is content to mosey along the trail at a nice leisurely pace. Big Boy is happy in a crowd of horses or off by himself. He has had concentrated training in the arena as well as countless hours out on the trail. Big Boy is confident going up and down hills, through the woods, across water, or out on the road. He is very well acclimated to gunfire, whips, tarps, wildlife, ponies, dogs, and rambunctious children! We have used him to pony young horses as well as push colts and cattle. When I was young we were lucky enough to meet Baxter Black. He jokingly commented about my dad’s old gelding, That’s a real farmer’s horse, the kind you can use to check cows on in the morning and plow your garden in the evening! Big Boy exemplifies that type of horse, but in a much prettier package! He does have some old splints on his front cannon bones and they are purely cosmetic and have never caused him any issues.
