DOEY
Doey is an exceptional Palomino John Mule. There is no need to ride him regularly to have a good experience using him for work or leisure. I have let him stand in the pasture for 2 months, threw a saddle on in the middle of a snow storm, stepped on and gathered cattle in the forest with no issues. He has been ridden around by kids, used to gather cattle, used to rope in the branding pen and trail ridden countless miles in the desert and mountains of Oregon and Idaho. He is the perfect size at just under 15 hands and has plenty of substance and bone to carry a heavy rider as far as you want to go. Doey is sure footed and confident and will cross water, bridges, down trees and rocky terrain without hesitation. He is a steady mule who does not fool around but he does enjoy trail rides and is a pleasure to ride. He is broke and in the bridle and has a good rein on him. He will spin a hole in the ground, side passes with ease, lopes nice circles and will sit down and stop. He is patient and careful when opening and closing gates and negotiating tricky obstacles. In addition, he is friendly and always easy to catch. He rides out alone with absolutely no issues and does just as well in a group. He is happy in a stall or in the pasture, easy to shoe, good around dogs, and good about handling his ears. Doey would be an asset to any working ranch but would also be a great mule for a casual trail rider. He is the solid built, well broke, fancy colored, perfect size, no nonsense mule everyone is looking for, and he is just 9 years old. We would be happy to show him to you here at our ranch before sale week or come take him for a spin at Bryce Canyon Mule Days. He is up to date on hoof care, vaccinations, deworming and dental care. We’d love to tell you more about him – call Pam (541) 280-5077 or Matt (541) 280-2885 or drop us an email at fourniertraining@gmail.com.
