SPANKY

Spanky is a Mustang from the Green Mountain Wyoming Management Area. Born in the year of 2017 this handsome, 15.3 hand tall, bay paint gelding turns heads everywhere he goes! Physically, he has a large and commanding physique. A gentle giant with a heart of pure gold. A true diamond of the desert.
He is a dream workhorse, and happy to ride out alone to finish a job. You can accomplish all forms of ranch work with confidence, including opening and closing gates, doctoring calves, gathering herds and strays, roping and dragging calves to the fire. Spanky will patiently stand ground tied for quite a while, which being able to trust a horse to do is quite a luxury. He also hobbles pretty darn well while you take your lunch time siesta. Spanky is a joy to be ridden recreationally at your leisure. He does excellent in large groups and rides quietly. He maneuvers all obstacles with ease, and will carry you up and down the steepest hills safely. Though he has ridden many miles across the mountains and desert under saddle, he is a gem in the arena. He’s extremely willing and attentive to what you ask him to do. He has mastered his beautiful lead changes and can stop soft and easy. He’s been used under harness to pull full wagons of tourists at the Fillmore City Arts Festival. Spanky has also been used for logging, where he drags timber to the roadside for pickup. Because of his gentleness and willingness to learn, he has been used as both an assistant and as an example horse at horsemanship clinics put on by Ufork this year. He is accustomed to having many different riders, including children, and always takes care of them. That being said, all people who spend time with Spanky end up falling in love with him.
Spanky truly has it all. He has the training and natural disposition to accomplish any task that he’s put up to, and the body to hold up to it!
You are welcome to come meet this hunk yourself! He’ll usually be at his home in Kanosh, Utah, but you may be able to catch him on the road at some of his traveling clinics.
