CAPTAIN

Big super red chestnut, Captain is the kind of horse that will do most anything you ask.
Doesn't start out hot,yet will stick with you and won't give out when you are working. Catch him in the pasture & ride him back in a halter. You can round up the cows, ride into town, pony a colt through a parade and then go swimming & have him pull the boat through the water.

Great on the trails, crosses water, logs & bridges. He travels out well with a good walk, smooth trot and super nice lope that he will keep up for miles if asked. Side passes, backs & neck reins, takes both leads and lopes a nice circle. Traffic safe, even trucks & sirens don’t bother him.

Gathers cows out of the pastures, helps in the sorting pen. He is happy to ride out alone or with a group, even lose horses running by don’t bother him. Good in rough country and brush.

16.1+hh, barefoot, measured on concrete with a stick & level. Sound; straight legs, big bone & feet, his front wears #3 shoes, good for farriar. His beautiful uphill build makes him super smooth to ride. So balanced in proportion that he doesn’t look as big as he is until you’re up next to him. Stout enough for any size rider, & easy to get on even for a small one because he’ll come over to a stump/fence to mount!

Rides western or English and has gone over low jumps. Also been driven in a team.
Just lately I took him to a fox hunt intro and he did great, everyone there was super impressed with how well he did on his first time out. Great with other horses. Hauls great, stands for the farrier & for bathes. Not cold backed or cinchy.
