Allow us to introduce, Captain! He is a big strong bay roan gelding who has a personality the size of Texas! We have owned Captain his whole life and we are sure proud of the horse that he has become. Captain stands 14.3 and will weigh 1200 pounds. We have ranched on this horse his whole life, used him in the feedyard, packed him to the ranch rodeos and team ropings. Captain has been on winning ranch rodeo teams and collected checks at the team ropings at all levels. Captain will watch a cow with the best of them! He has always been one that we don’t like to leave at home when we have a job that has to be done. He’s steady, dependable and a joy to be around. Captain has been used to gather cows, drag calves and sort pairs. Brooke was the first person to ever rope on him his 4 year old year and together they doctored hundreds of grass pasture cattle that summer! He was so much fun from day one. We have rode him on big ranches in Texas, where he has been rode miles and never seen another person. Assorted wildlife, running water or traffic doesn’t phase him. Captain is a fun heel horse that anyone can get along with! He has a big sliding stop that will halt a freight train in its tracks. We have headed on him as well. He’s the perfect size World Series horse that gives you an advantage over the WSTR barrier. Captain is an own son of the well-known Wichita Ranch stallion, Mecom Blue, an NCHA Open Derby finalist and a top 20 leading cutting sire whose foals have earned more than $2,000,000.
