Jay Z

Jay Z is a one of a kind, home raised 6 year old gelding. Sired by our Blue Roan AQHA stallion, HANDMADE FOREVER, and out of a registered Clydesdale mare. He stands 16.3 hands and is a thick bodied dude with a keen head and a full mane and tail. Jay Z is jet black with an even blaze and 4 socks, making him an eye catcher for sure. He even has some roan hairs through his flanks and a touch of coon tail head. I certainly haven't seen another quite like him. Very seldom do you see a 1/2 draft with a classy looking head like Jay Z has! As unique and stunning as his looks are, the best part about him is his disposition. He has been handled since the time he was a weanling, even traveling alongside his mother as she pulled a wagon into a funeral service the year he was a baby. We started him as a 2 year old and he has had full time employment on our forest association the past 4 summers. Jay Z is an absolute champ to ride in the mountains. He is very sure footed with an impeccable work ethic making him pleasant to ride ALL day long. He doesn't care how steep it gets or how thick the timber is, he is happy to trudge along through anything you point him at. He has been across the big rivers, narrow creeks, the bogs, and the bridges. He will lead a pack string, or bring up the rear and he is fine either way. Jay Z will out walk the best of them and is a smooth moving horse for such a big boy. He is comfortable to ride for a long day and is an exceptionally easy mover. I am always amazed at how effortlessly he can take the correct lead and lope a collected circle just like a little horse that is bred to be that way. It may be more work for him than it is for some, but he will never let you know it. He is a big stopper, always on his hind end and turns around that way as well. We have even played around with him on some small jumps and he truly craves it. I think anything that brings a touch of a challenge to his training lights his fire! Jay Z is kind, gentle, and quiet for the beginner that needs help with their confidence, but he can be pretty fleet footed and alive for the more experienced rider that is looking for a new challenge. A truly fun horse that is always willing to try something new and eager to rise to the occasion to please you! He will ride in any bridle, or even a string around his neck and is soft and responsive in the face and ribs both. Fancy broke and mature beyond his years. Jay Z acts like an old horse that has seen and done it all, while he is really just a 6 year old with his whole life ahead. A special horse with a bright future!
